Industry veteran joins the $18B AUM RIA to expand and enhance client experience

ATLANTA — January 6, 2025 — HB Wealth Management (HB), a leading Atlanta-based fee-only wealth advisor with offices across the Southeast, announces the addition of Tim Tallach, J.D., CPA, as Director of Advanced Tax Planning and Family Office Services within the HB Family Office division. Tallach brings 28 years of experience providing strategic tax planning and family office services to ultra-high-net-worth clients.

In this newly created role, Tallach will lead the firm’s delivery of advanced income and transfer tax guidance, partnering with advisors to best serve clients in this critically important area. In addition, Tallach will draw on his decades of family office experience to curate and expand the firm’s platform of family office services tailored to meet the distinct needs of its ultra-high-net-worth clients.

“Tim’s appointment marks a significant enhancement in our ability to offer specialized tax guidance to clients,” said Thomas Carroll, President and CEO of Homrich Berg. “His established track record in advancing client goals through innovative tax solutions and family office management aligns with our mission to deliver exceptional service.”

For nearly two decades, Tallach was instrumental in building and scaling family office services and tax planning solutions with GenSpring Family Offices and Pathstone Family Office focusing on the diverse and complex needs of ultra-high-net-worth families. Prior to joining the wealth management industry, he was a tax professional with Arthur Andersen LLP working with ultra-high-net-worth families and executives on tax planning strategies. Tallach will report to Michael A. Woocher, Principal and Chief Advisory Officer at Homrich Berg.

HB’s dedication to a fiduciary, client-first approach and its commitment to fostering an environment of comprehensive, tailored financial advice was a driving force for Tallach’s move to the RIA. “The ethos of HB, which centers on surrounding each client with a team of expert planners, truly resonates with me,” Tallach expressed. “The complexities of significant family wealth are akin to those of managing a business. Growing up working in my family’s business, I learned the importance and symbiotic nature of every role. From the floor sweep to the c-suite, it takes coordination, communication, and an ownership mentality to breed success. I have applied these principles throughout my career and look forward to bringing that collaborative spirit and strategic thinking to my work at HB.”

“Tim’s vision and deep industry knowledge make him a pivotal addition to the team. His leadership will be crucial as we expand tax planning capabilities and continue to set new standards in personalized family office services for clients,” Woocher added.

Tallach’s arrival is a key part of the firm’s strategy to grow its Family Office through comprehensive and integrated advice and service. He graduated magna cum laude from Centenary College (B.S. in Accounting / Business) and earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He is a licensed attorney, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has held several securities and life insurance-related licenses and certifications. He is a long-time member of several American Bar Association tax and estate planning sub-committees.
