Financial Planning
Helping to answer any financial question, big or small.
Financial Planning at HB Wealth Covers a Wide Range of Services
We can help your family answer questions including:
- How much money do I need to retire?
- How much risk do I need to take to potentially reach my goals?
- How do I maximize my income while minimizing taxes?
- How can I thoughtfully transfer wealth to future generations?
At HB Wealth, we believe in the importance of starting with financial planning.
This planning may incorporate lifetime wealth forecast analysis, investment planning, tax planning, risk management, and estate planning elements. We combine this information into an overall interactive wealth forecast that can then be used to test different investment approaches initially, and will also be updated over time as your situation and the investment environment changes.
Why Is Financial Planning So Important?
Many families tend to focus on investment management when they think of getting help with their financial lives, but investments are only one piece of the overall financial planning puzzle. Financial planners realize that the comprehensive approach must go beyond stocks and bonds. Your HB Wealth advisor believes in a comprehensive financial planning approach that links your investment planning strategies with your overall financial plan to achieve your goals. Great investment returns may not matter so much if a poor insurance coverage situation leads to a catastrophic loss for the family. Or families may find they are leaving money on the table by not taking advantage of the best tax planning ideas or charitable giving timing strategies that would deliver real dollars to the bottom line. Ultimately the financial planning landscape is changing often, with new laws being passed or new strategies being developed. Your HB Wealth advisors work hard to stay on top of these changes and trends to then advise you on potential adjustments aligned with your goals as we work together to navigate the life path ahead.
Why Should I Use A Fiduciary Fee-Only Advisor For Financial Planning?
Your HB Wealth advisor is a fiduciary, fee-only planning advisor. When providing you with financial planning services, your HB Wealth advisor will consider your best interests instead of worrying about selling you products. We believe our fee-only fiduciary approach helps ensure that your financial planning needs are met without the conflicts of a product sale. Some other firms may sell insurance or receive referral fees for tax or legal services. These arrangements can create potential conflicts of interest, especially if a recommendation benefits the firm financially. You will also notice that most of our HB Wealth financial planners have various certifications listed after their names If you look at many other financial advisor websites you may notice that some firms have many partners or advisors who do NOT have the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and/or Chartered Financial Analyst certifications. HB Wealth believes strongly in the value of these two professional certifications and the majority of our client service professionals have or are pursuing one or both of the certifications. We also have advisors who have chosen to go beyond and pursue additional certifications in divorce, ultra-high-net-worth wealth management, charitable planning, estate planning, or other important topics. As a firm founded by CPAs it is not surprising that many of our advisors also happen to be active or former CPAs as well even though they are not preparing tax returns at HB Wealth.
How Does Financial Planning Address My Important Life Questions?
As we think about many of the important events in our lives, the connection with comprehensive wealth management is clear. College planning is often a major personal financial goal for young families. Retirement planning is often a major personal financial goal for individuals and families at any age. Investment management is part of financial planning, and proper portfolio management is the fuel that drives other parts of the comprehensive financial plan. Risk management identifies various life events that could hurt your personal financial plan, and then identifies strategies to address those risks. Estate planning links tax planning, investment management, and legal strategies to target desired future goals for your family wealth. Tax planning focuses on not only how to potentially reduce your tax bill now, but also how to use smart investment management and financial planning to build a game plan that may be able to reduce future taxes down the road. Multi-generational planning brings all of the above down to the current and future younger generations, identifying approaches to educate and guide them while planning for their future via various estate, tax, investment, and risk management strategies.
