Philip is currently Senior Wealth Advisor & Shareholder at HB Wealth. He joined HB Wealth in January 2019 after co-founding an independent financial planning firm in 2013. Philip serves his clients in the areas of individual tax, estate, investment, and retirement planning. Throughout his career, Philip has continuously furthered his education in order to better serve his clientele. Philip is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a CFA Charterholder, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
Prior to HB Wealth, Philip worked with clients at SoundRiver Advisors and served as its Executive Director responsible for the firm’s operations and regulatory compliance. Initially, Philip spent his first 11 years in wealth management with PPA Investments, Inc., a FINRA-member Broker-Dealer and its affiliated Registered Investment Advisor located in Roswell, GA. At PPA, Philip was promoted to Principal – Operations Manager within two years, but while there, served in many capacities.
Philip is actively involved in the Georgia golf community, currently serving as Vice President and Trustee of the GSGA Foundation. The GSGA Foundation assists the golf industry in Georgia by providing educational opportunities through the Yates & Moncrief scholarship programs, empowering individuals through Adaptive Golf, and promoting Youth On Course rounds in Georgia. Philip also recently served 6 years as Secretary-Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors of the affiliated Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA).
In January 2021, Philip joined the Advisory Board of Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health treatment organization based in Atlanta. For more than 30 years, Skyland Trail been inspiring people with mental illness to thrive through a holistic program of evidence-based psychiatric treatment, integrated medical care, research and education.
Philip graduated from Georgia State University with a Master’s in Public Accountancy in 2013. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Business (Real Estate) and Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 2001 and 2000, respectively.
Philip is originally from Blakely, Georgia, but now lives in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Amme and five children, golfing, traveling, hunting, and playing various musical instruments.
